Finally The Good Old Days of /jp/ is Back… somehow…

Long story short… moot created /jp/ Japan / General board to separate non Anime contents from drowning /a/… It was a sort of renaissance… I was there from the very beginning… it was paradise. It was a time where I can draw Touhou getting tortured and spam Guro images for the enjoyment of everyone. This also marks the transition between Mugenjohncel to Uncle Mugen… everyone’s favorite Uncle… Everyone is having fun… serious fun at it was like that for quite a while until a new batch of Janitor and Mods quite literally shit up /jp/ by deleting threads that don’t conform to their tastes and banning people they don’t like… It got so bad that I simply left and stopped ban evading… it wasn’t worth my time…

It’s almost time my friends… I’m glad to announce that all the graphical resources for The Fucking Question V2 is completed and is being compiled into the project to be thoroughly tested so we won’t repeat the same embarrassing mistake we had the last time…

So what to expect in version 2?… Well… of course there is the graphical updates, the larger resolution and more unreasonable amounts of animation here and there that will grab your systems resources by the balls and slow down your machine… Lol! Also present are the side stories, a “real” Q&A portion with input questions from anyone that is not me and finally answering the age old question… what is the relationship between Lucy and Uncle Mugen… are they friends? Are they lovers?… you will soon find out… Lol!…

Above is a sprite comparison between the old and the new sprites. While Boyet (Schoolgirl) closely resembles her previous sprite, Diego has undergone a radical change… gone are the hime-cut hairstyle in favor of the stereotypical perky girl generic anime style complete with ahegao ahoge (that dangling hair)

One interesting thing about this project is that while adding a few new nifty tricks… I uncovered an unexpected glitch in the Ren’py Tooltip where the Tooltip remains persistent in the screen after moving to a new menu and in what can be called a rare Uncle Mugen moment… I actually used my coconut to figure out a really ugly workaround to this problem. How ugly you ask? I filled the whole unused space of the screen with Null hotspots that displays an invisible image to override the previously shown Tooltip… Lol!… the game is now 100% slower on older machines!… Isn’t it great!?… OK that’s all for now… one last image to tease you my friends… Wha!… What!?… I’m fat!?… of course I’m fat now but this is 2008 Uncle Mugen… and back then I’m still lean and mean and handsome… oh wait… I’m still handsome… Lol!

Hammer… nearly 3 years and still unreleased despite being “almost” complete back then simply because I forgot… Lol!

Well… not really 3 years… Lol!… but it all started here in this THREAD I made in /jp/ inviting people to submit their really short story and I’ll make a VN out of it while properly crediting them. A few posts later I got THIS reply… the story is good and everything that I made it within two weeks… yes, you heard it correctly… two weeks.

Anyway, this is Hammer… a VN about a little girl, a lonely guy and… a hammer.

So you ask, why didn’t you release it back then?… You see, 2009 was a time when Renpy leapfrogged in terms of features which I wanted to implement and of course Ren’py kept getting better and better while I on the other hand excited about all the new neat features back then that I wanted to try out that I slowly forgot that I have a complete VN sitting here in my HD waiting to be released… not to mention I can no longer contact the original author.

Fast forward nearly 3 years later… here I am again about to release Hammer with updated graphics (still a few missing pieces though) and GUI and everything compliant to the latest Ren’py release… hopefully I don’t get distracted this time and forget about this… Lol!… Of course the original Author will be credited…

Now where should I start?… There is something… different about this OELVN… something different something so strange that you will be glued for a good 30 to 60 minutes or so despite the horrible art… The writing is so borderline retard and horribad. Yes, the writing, the story, the setting is so BAD it’s GOOD!!!… It makes Katawa Shoujo pretentious trying hard mediocre in comparison… the OELVN I’m talking about is Rita Please Respond… made by witch 2 !!AFElzTcxyLp and yes, this one is indeed born out of /jp/… 4chan’s most user friendly board currently being watched over by some of the most biased, vindictive moderation team who probably is compensating for their real life failures by imposing their tyrannical will at the said board and pretend they are someone important and famous at the expense of the poor /jp/ residents… (Yes, I’m talking about NSJ and Meido and a few select 4chan Mods who probably give moot a blowjob for a chance to become a mod)

But enough of that… Let’s go back to the OELVN… as I have stated earlier… this game is just plain… different…
