I’m still alive you know… barely…


So here is Ren’py Date Simulator, The Game (not again)… a tiny VN based around the demo VN included in Ren’py released back in 2011… Unfortunately, the rush to finish it before the end of the year left me with some lingering regrets and questions like what could I have done to make it better but still within my cheap, fast and efficient way of doing things… the amount of regret is so much I haven’t uploaded the game on the Ren’py archives yet. Blurred… Interaction?… What are you smoking?…

Lol!… Anyway as you can see in the image above I implemented a sort of blurred interactive thing for the DSE Plus – Remake I’m working on where the BG is slowly blurred while interacting with another character giving more emphasis on the character you interact since my BG’s are super detailed and super distracting. I cannot remember the Japanese VN I saw that implemented this system but it is looking very good so I copied it and put it in my project so I too can have good looking project… What do you say?… Is it a good idea?…

DSE Plus – The Game… progress?…

Hello!… It is me Uncle Mugen again… it’s been a while… I’ve been really busy lately… as in REALLY busy but that doesn’t mean the project is stalled… oh no… it’s been much more active during the past weeks so you ask…

Why aren’t you bitching about it like you usually do?

Well… most of the work done was on the script side… (I mean, who wants to see a wall of text?) Most of the work is specifically the Side Story focused on the Glasses Girl… and I tell you, her side story turned out way WAY larger than the actual DSE game… it can already be regarded as a stand alone VN by itself but that’s not what I’m planning to do…

Oh… Graphical updates…

Once again… I am tempted to replace the sprite with an improved version for… who knows how many times but this latest incarnation blows everything I made previously out of the water… it is that good. Also notice the different headgear she is wearing… yes, she will have randomly appearing headgear to put some variety… Read the rest of this entry ?


Redesigned GUI for DSE and others… finally!…

After doing several variations… I finally settled on what will be the final GUI for DSE (which is disturbingly close to the previous GUI apart from the colors and updated graphics)… I also considered Komi Tsuku’s request and increased the screen resolution from 720×405 to 1280 x 768 so it is very large and will be slow on low end machines and netbooks… especially since the buttons will now be animated… (no use supporting older hardware now since everyone seems to have upgraded hardware already that can play GTAIV…)

I also dropped the “plus” and instead go with “version 2.0” meaning this is intended to replace the older DSE the Game previously released and the old graphics will now be viewable via the unlockable scrap section. Read the rest of this entry ?
