UNCLE MUGEN’S FREE RESOURCES – CHARACTER SPRITE

A sprite set/asset from one of my canceled project “Lucy’s Revenge Again” which is supposed to be a direct sequel of “Lucy’s Revenge”… Due to recent events, continuing working with the said project will just do more harm than good and closing it is the most sensible thing to do. During the production phase of the project, several assets were made. It was unfortunate that the project will have to end this way but the resources made can still be put to good use and benefit others who might need sprites or placeholder graphics so they can make make their first baby steps into the world of OELVN making… so here they are being release to the general public. And with this announcement. Project Lucy’s Revenge Again is now officially canceled… it sucks but it had to be done… Now I can finally concentrate of delivering other commitments like BG-CG’s and the ToL Parody.

Anyway… free for use in OELVN projects (You know, sprite or placeholder or whatever it may serve you best… BG-CG not included… insert legal disclaimer and other similar things here)… You can edit it if you want to suit your needs…

A really REALLY busy December for Studio Mugenjohncel from pending projects and commitments to my unstapable antics and trolling and a really exploitable template of Saten-Chan from Railgun/Index Anime.

Believe it or not, what you see here is the result of 30 minute wait at the Airport while armed only with a single mongol #2 pencil and the back of some random folded paper I found. So far, this is the best I can do and probably the only thing I could do during this busy season till I cleared my equally hectic schedule. (You know, this really random sketch turned out really nice, I sure wish I have this momentum whenever I really needed to draw something… Lol!)

A sort of tutorial… Using Sketchup and Photoshop to create BG-CG’s for your OELVN projects… fast…

Disclaimer: The Sketchup components you see here does not belong to me. I did not create them nor am I claiming them. We are only using them for educational purposes and to demonstrate the awesome convenience and potential of sketchup and 3D warehouse has to offer in production of BG-CG’s for OELVN’s (and I kinda feel lazy today)… insert more legal crap here…

OK, I give a tutorial… err… OK maybe not quite a tutorial but close. Rather, I’ll show how I do things and hopefully I could share a few of my secret techniques so others can benefit. My method is obviously not the best out there nor was it morally correct (were practically cheating here). I put emphasis more on speed than quality… better have 10 BG-CG’s in two weeks and get the job done rather than wait for 1 beautiful handdrawn BG-CG and suffer from burnout. I use google sketchup to create scenes… fast… Google sketchup is very easy to learn, more easier than photoshop and with Google’s 3D warehouse, you now have a whole library of objects, buildings and anything in between accessible anytime (though if you’re gonna use this to create BG-CG’s for your project… I really do suggest you create your objects from scratch to avoid being frown upon by elitists and other artists).
